There are two areas that I will focus on today: the use of product photos in your search results, and the use of image thumbnails in the autocomplete.

Images of your products should be shown in your search results so that your customers can see your products without having to click through to the product page. Make sure that your product photos are clear in thumbnail form, and are flattering to your product. The chances of a customer buying increases when images are displayed along with a product description.

Images in the autocomplete should be shown in a way that catches your customer’s eyes. This also helps to clearly separate autocomplete keyword suggestions and autocomplete product suggestions, as your products will come with images while your keyword suggestions will not. Showing images along with suggested search terms in your autocomplete can help turn browsers into buyers.
