With more than 179 million Americans planning to partake in Halloween festivities in 2017, spending is slated to reach a record high of $9.1 billion. Consumers are expected to spend a record average of $86.13 per person.

What will consumers spend this money on? The National Retail Federation says that Halloween celebrants plan to spend $3.4 billion on costumes, $2.7 billion on candy, and $2.7 billion on decorations in 2017.
