Congratulations, to Demac Media, who is our August Partner of the Month! Not only is Demac our Canadian neighbour from down the street in Toronto, but they are also an extremely talented and helpful agency that creates beautiful websites that speak for themselves.

We had the chance to interview Shannon Hughes, their Partnership Manager, and learn more about Demac Media. Check out the Q&A below:

Q1: Tell us a little bit about Demac Media’s history.
A: Founded in 2007, Demac Media is an award-winning commerce agency based out of Toronto. From day one, the company’s mission has been to be at the core of commerce, and help grow the industry.

Q2: Quick company description.
A: Demac Media is a commerce agency that provides you with the best fit for high performance, using the most versatile methodology, to give your company the support it needs for comfortable and rapid growth.

Q3: What kind of projects, industries, and platforms does Demac mostly work on?
A: We work well with Shopify Plus, Workarea, and Magento. Our projects usually consist of re-platforms, system integrations and market growth. In terms of industries, we work in retail, fashion, cosmetics, health and fitness, and furniture.

Q4: Why do you think search and navigation is important? What are some of the challenges your customers are facing with search and navigation?
A: Often times, when a client’s search and collection filters aren’t optimized, they find that their customer satisfaction tends to be lower as their customers aren’t directed to the right products they are looking for. Also, this signifies a potential loss of sales for them or a lower order value just because their customers aren’t presented with the right fit of the product they are looking for.

Q5: You’ve integrated Nextopia before – how did you find the integration?
A: The Nextopia team is always responsive and have always provided Demac with the support we need to ensure each client’s projected deadline is met.

Q6: What was the reason you chose to use Nextopia over the other search providers?
A: We are very supportive of fellow local companies, Nextopia’s solution is easily integrable and the Nextopia team is always very responsive and supportive. Our teams work together very well to deliver for our clients.

Q7: What is it like working with the Nextopia team and their Partner team?
A: The team at Nextopia are exceptionally amazing people and have always been very supportive, responsive and very easy to work with.

Q8: Which third party extensions do you consider key for your clients?
A: Reviews, Data analytics, ESP, Search, Product recommendations, Loyalty 

Q9: Does Demac have any exciting news?

A: Our CEO, Matt Bertulli’s recent book launch Anything, Anywhere, Matt’s talk at Workarea Summit on September 13th and Workshop on the 14th of September, Matt’s talk in Texas at the ICS eCommerce Summit on the 26th of October.

Q10: What’s your company’s motto?
A: We believe in Hard Work and Cold Beer
