Last week, nearly half of the entire Nextopia team had the opportunity to jet off to Chicago for one of the most important trade shows of the year, IRCE! From June 6-9th, the conference brought together over 700 companies and hosted a variety of speakers and workshops related to the ecommerce industry.

After an early flight in to Chicago, a few members of our team attended the Bigcommerce Ecommerce Growth Summit at Soldiers Field. They had the pleasure of hearing the famous former football player and coach, Mike Dikta, speak! Later, everyone reunited at McCormick Place for the IRCE Welcome Reception. This was a great opportunity to say hello to familiar and new faces and see all the wonderful companies representing themselves this year at IRCE.

Day two started off on the right foot with Nextopia hosting our Annual Client Appreciation Breakfast before the show. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet many of our clients face to face for the first time, as well as seeing old friendly faces and catching up! At the client breakfast, the Nextopia team launched our new initiative, Ecommerce for Good, and presented our clients with a challenge to join and give back to their community in a positive way! The team then headed up to exhibit hall to begin one of the biggest and most important days. Day two at IRCE was very successful as we were able to manage and coordinate all three of our booths, while engaging with partners, clients and other retailers who attended the show.

The fun didn’t end there as Nextopia headed to a wine, cigars and meat dinner hosted by Tom Puchalski at eBound! It was truly a wonderful experience being surrounded by good company and delicious food. Following the dinner, the team then headed to an event hosted by Avalara at Carnivale Chicago. With great food and company, live music and dancing, who could ask for a better night! Afterwards, Nextopia and a few of our partners decided to experience some Chicago culture at their famous piano bar, Howl at the Moon, ending the night on a fun and memorable note.

On the last day of IRCE, Nextopia hosted our Annual Partner Appreciation Breakfast with a wonderful turn out of over a hundred partners! We then announced our initiative, Ecommerce for Good, to them and couldn’t have been happier with the turnout of how many of partners wanted to get involved! At the end of the final exhibiting day, the Nextopia team packed up our booths and headed to the airport for our evening flight back to Toronto.

Thank you to IRCE for an incredible experience, we are so excited for IRCE 2018!
