Nextopia is proud to work with a large network of eCommerce experts, to further enhance the online experience for users. Every month, we chose one of our partners who really stood out in this large network of eCommerce experts and had them participate in a Q&A to really get to know them!
This month we chose Kadro Solutions as our Partner Spotlight! We had the opportunity to learn more about Kadro and their Vice President of Business Development, Ty Rhudy. Ty Rhudy manages the direct engagement of all new client relationships, as well as manages all the strategic partnerships within the organization, such as Magento, eBay, Amazon, Wal-Mart and Nextopia!

What does Kadro specialize in?

Kadro is a 16+ year old eCommerce services organization.  We support clients that range from the Fortune 50, IR 1000 and even start-ups with holistic eCommerce services such as Magento replatforms, performance engagements, ongoing support, technology consulting and mobile application development.  We are the only Magento Professional System Integrator that is an eBay Certified Provider as we also have a niche supporting brands that want to launch, manage and grow their omni-channel capabilities through our SaaS product, Kadro Marketplace Manager.  Our 40+ person and growing team is based in Raleigh, NC.

What is Kadro known for? What makes you different from other agencies?

We are the only Magento and eBay Certified system integrator and are doing a tremendous amount of work currently on Magento 2 including replatforms to Magento 2 and M1-M2 upgrades. Our team also works with a wide variety of merchants both on Magento and for selling on marketplaces.  Our Magento merchant clients are both B2C and B2B and include industries such as apparel, footwear, jewelry, parts and accessories, automotive, subscription services, digital products, consumer electronics, home goods, pet products and clients that have developed their own marketplace to sell products.

In supporting marketplaces our team has integrated 100+ companies to online marketplaces including eBay, Amazon, Jet.com, Wal-Mart.com, NewEgg and Sears.  To date we’ve helped these merchants generate over $1 Billion in sales through these marketplaces and some of the brands we’ve integrated include Target.com; The US Postal Service, Bose, APMEX, NewEgg, Fantatics, Vera Bradley, JomaShop, Holley Performance Products, Andrew Marc and many others.

Kadro’s Marketplace Manager tool is innovative in itself as it provides the flexibility to integrate into any platforms that has a native extension for Magento 1 and Magento 2 but also has a pricing model that is not based on revenue share and can be 80% less to setup and operate compared to other 3rd party marketplace integration tools. With Kadro Marketplace Manager we also provide fantastic 24/7 support, dedicated account management and the ability to be the bridge for merchants to the enterprise teams, support and programs that are designed to support larger online merchants.

Does Kadro have any exciting news or upcoming plans?

Kadro has rolled out a new web app to make the evaluation process in moving to Magento 2 from Magento 1 or any eCommerce platform and also in evaluating an integration to online marketplaces.  This web app is a simple questionnaire that walks merchants through the questions needed to develop and estimate an approach. Through this process, what used to take a hour of more of conversations, and back and forth communications, now can be accomplished in 10-15 minutes through our tool.  Nextopia merchants will be able to visit these surveys on a special landing page located here.

Why do you think search & navigation is important?

For many of our retailers, site search is the primary method used by consumers to find relevant products.  As such, a high quality search experience is one of the most essential capabilities of a successful eCommerce site.

What is it like working with the Nextopia team?

I’ve always had fun working with the Nextopia team. They are helpful in every way; innovative thinkers and they do awesome holiday events such as Elf on the Shelf!

Tell us an interesting fact about Kadro.

The Kadro name is the Esperanto word for “framework” which is core to our thinking as a software engineering organization and it also speaks to how we work as a team. More info can be found here.
