A few of Nextopia’s very own had the opportunity to head off to Chicago for B2B Online 2017 for the first time ever, and were not disappointed. Running from May 8-10th, the conference brought together a variety of companies, speakers, workshops and more to discuss the latest trends and topics of the B2B industry.

The first day began introductions and icebreakers, where Roddy and Kevin had the chance to meet many partners and clients, including Magento, Perficent, ORO Commerce, as well as many new faces! After an eventful day full of workshops, panels and keynote speakers, they joined other attendees in the main conference hall to attend the networking event. They then headed to Codify’s evening event on the hotel’s beautiful rooftop patio that overlooked the river, followed by an event with Broadleaf at theWit rooftop. They were both great opportunities to say hello to familiar and new faces. Roddy and Kevin then headed out for an evening of fun to watch the Chicago Cubs play the New York Yankees in a record breaking game that lasted a whole 18 innings. Unfortunately, the Yankees won in the end, but that did not damper the mood for the rest of the week!


Day two was all about engagement and customer experience optimization, and after a full day of speakers and workshops, Kevin and Roddy headed over to the Casino for The Roaring Twenties event held by B2B Online. Congrats to Kevin who shined at the Black Jack table, however Roddy was not as fortunate – better luck next time!

The fun didn’t end there, as the evening ahead was filled with many more networking events! First of the night was a wonderful rooftop party hosted by Snap 36 at theWit Rooftop. It was an excellent venue with a beautiful view, and the opportunity to have some fun with fellow partners and clients! Next on the list was to head over to the event hosted by Classy Llama and Snap 36 at one of Chicago’s most popular Piano Bars, Howl at the Moon, and this time one of our clients, Dave Sheets from BobBarker.com came along!


Nextopia’s main focus has mostly been directed in the B2C space, this conference was a wonderful opportunity to speak to clients and partners whose primary focus is in the B2B space. Kevin and Roddy were able to get a better understanding of the unique challenges and needs of B2B retailers and learned a lot of new and interesting information about B2B eCommerce that will benefit Nextopia as they move forward into the future!
