Hello, my name is Eric and welcome to Nextopia eCommerce Labs. I’m here today to share some knowledge from our team of experts about the importance of storing your customers’ recent searches made on your site.

By enabling your site to record recent customer searches through a cookie, you can present your customer with the option of repeating past searches in a single click. This functionality is easy to implement, and provides another layer of personalization to your customers’ shopping experience.

Additionally, it encourages your customers to return to your site after comparison shopping. By allowing them to click on a previous search rather than type it out again, you can save your customer time and give your store a better chance of converting a comparison browser.

If you do decide to enable this function, make sure you allow your customers to delete recent searches, or even decline the option completely. Many customers prefer to shop and browse in private, and may be concerned about your data gathering policies. By allowing them to delete or turn off saved searches, you can show them that you’re serious about giving them options, and about customer privacy.

Thanks for watching and I’ll see you next time!
