As we all expected, consumers turned to online shopping in droves on Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2020. Across Searchspring’s customer base of ecommerce stores, average transactions were up 34% over 2019.

Food & Drinks, Flowers & Gifts, Sports & Outdoors, and Arts & Crafts were just some of the industries that benefited from a spike in traffic compared to last year. And, after the year that was, it comes as no surprise that cozy clothing, home accessories, and online gift cards were among the most in-demand products.

Curbside pickup and Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) were both breakout trends this year, and mobile traffic continues to grow.
